….. and LE SACRE TAKES TROPHY RACE

Our second winner came in the feature race of the day, the Troy Gard Memorial Handicap over 1100 metres. LE SACRE was a well-fancied favourite after his recent Narrogin win.

The race was run at a good clip, but Glenn Smith settled LE SACRE at the rear of the field, and waited until the straight before closing on the leaders. The horse gathered in the leader Twists of Fate easily to win by a comfortable 1 3/4 lengths.

This was Glenn Smith’s first winner for the stable since his comeback, and was richly deserved for all his hard work.

The stable was delighted to win this particular race, which remembered a firm supporter of BTC who died far too young. Connections of the horse are shown above, celebrating with a committee member and representatives of Troy Gard’s family after the presentation of the trophy, a beautiful wristwatch.

The veteran JOMATESI finished off an excellent day for the stable, taking 3rd place in the last race.
