After his exploits in┬áthe Belgravia Stakes, RULING FORCE was well fancied for the Westspeed 3YO Handicap over 1400 metres at Ascot’s Wednesday meeting.

From barrier rise jockey Troy Turner took no chances, and had the Fath gelding beautifully placed on the outside of the field, just off the pace. As Bonne Femme led the runners into the home straight, RULING FORCE was ready to pounce. At the 200 metre mark Troy urged the horse forward and RULING FORCE quickly gathered in the leaders and cleared away for an effortless win, beating Princess Courjaz by a comfortable 1 3/4 lengths. This was a well deserved victory, and very appropriate as it was owner-breeder Serge Madrigali’s 60th birthday, so a great way to kick off the celebrations!

RULING FORCE is a promising young galloper and, after this confidence-booster, may be aimed at the Guineas in a few weeks’ time.
