LADY BY CHANCE was one of the fancied runners in the Stelsco Hire – Troy Gard Memorial Handicap over 1675 metres on Sunday. This rich trophy race is one of Bunbury’s longstanding events, which remembers a special person in Troy Gard.

The race itself was run at a good clip, with the favourite Solheim keen to try and make all. Paul Harvey settled LADY BY CHANCE at the rear of the field, before making his move off the home turn. The CHANCE IN TIME mare quickened well and took up the lead in the last 100 metres, holding off the late challenge of Regimental Pride to win by a long head.

Another great victory for LADY BY CHANCE, who seems to get on particularly well with jockey Paul Harvey. The Giadresco family, who share ownership with long-time friend Bruno Italiano, were delighted to win this special trophy with another home-bred.

LADY BY CHANCE will now, no doubt, return to metro racing to seek more success.
