Chance In Time Wins Country Challenge Heat

We had two runners at Ascot’s midweek meeting. Desert Ace ran in the Hakim Boy Handicap over 1400 metres, and put in a good effort, finishing strongly in 5th behind the odds-on favourite Taharka.

Chance In Time took part in the Country Challenge qualifying heat, which had been rescheduled from Bunbury’s abandoned meeting on Sunday. As is usual in these events, a very competitive field went to post. William Pike has developed a really good understanding of Chance In Time, and settled the horse at the back of the field, well off the pace. As they turned for home William started a long run down the outside, and Chance In Time sprinted hard to come over the top of the front runners in the shadow of the post to grab a well deserved victory. A brilliant effort by horse and rider.

Chance In Time has now earned a crack at the $60,000 Country Challenge Final on Saturday 20th December, along with his stable companion Spirited Rocket.
