DISCORD WITCH breaks through

The stable had a successful day on Thursday at Bunbury, with a winner and two close up 2nds.

DISCORD WITCH was hot favourite for the first race of the day, the Member no 310 John Davey Maiden over 1208 metres. The Discorsi mare had been unlucky not to win earlier, so confidence was high.

It was quite a messy start to the race, with Clappa Thunder and Foxinator vying for the lead in a bunched field. Jason Whiting was forced to ease DISCORD WITCH back off the pace, settling in 5th place. As the runners approached the turn the mare was in 3rd place, parked outside of the leaders. By the 200 metre mark she had gained the upper hand, and ran home strongly to win by a length from the fast-finishing Klondike Kenny. The mare had done a  lot of work, so it was a brave win.

Peter and Matt were delighted to train their second winner for Dan and Julia Love, and hopefully there are more on the way.

ALL SETTLED, also for the Loves, finished 2nd in his maiden later in the afternoon, and POP HERO was just edged out by a long neck in the Provincial Sprint Heat.

The stable has hit form in the last couple of weeks so prospects look good for the rest of the season.
