FORCE rules again

After his narrow maiden win at Bunbury, RULING FORCE was made favourite for the Westspeed 2 year old Plate at Ascot on Wednesday.

The Fath gelding was a little boisterous before the start, but once the barriers opened he was on his best behaviour.

Jockey Troy Turner decided to settle him on the outside of the field, five back, behind the early leader Buster Dee. As soon as they turned into the home straight the horse pulled himself to the front and set off for home. There was plenty of time for his rivals to overhaul him, but RULING FORCE ran on strongly to win by a long neck from August Knight.

This was a terrific performance by RULING FORCE, who is still racing greenly and can only improve with experience. This should give a lot of pleasure to his owner-breeder Serge Madrigali.
