Maiden success for PROFIT STREET

The stable had two runners at Northam’s Thursday meeting, and both ran well. LADY BY CHANCE was runner-up in the WA Handicap over 1600 metres, and PROFIT STREET was successful in the Dukes Inn Maiden over 1000 metres.

PROFIT STREET had shown great promise in his first prep, with two close 2nds at Bunbury. The Viscount gelding had done well in his spell and had trialled impressively before today’s race. Punters made him a short odds-on favourite, and he did not let his supporters down. Ridden patiently by Jason Whiting, PROFIT STREET was settled towards the rear of the field, avoiding the early dash to the home turn. Although the  leader Sin Chao was not stopping, Jason asked his mount to move up, which he did stylishly. At the  200 metre mark PROFIT STREET took up the running and quickly established a winning lead, passing the post 2 lengths to the good.

A pleasing start to the prep for PROFIT STREET and his owners Serge and Sophie Madrigali and D Lupus. Peter and Matt expect this well-bred gelding to  progress to better things in the near future.
