RAYTAYA wins again at Narrogin

Our team at Narrogin on Saturday gained plenty of place money, but we only had one winner, RAYTAYA, in the Narrogin Racing Australia Day Dual Code 2013 Handicap over 1100 metres. The Bearcat gelding had won on his last appearance at Narrogin, so he was made a warm favourite, especially after his main rival Flying Trick was withdrawn at the barrier.

The race itself really only concerned two horses, Dante’s Angel, who tried to make all, and RAYTAYA. Jockey Danny Miller kept up a relentless gallop on Dante’s Angel, and it took all of RAYTATA’s battling qualities, and Willie White’s strength, to win by a nose on the line. A narrow but pleasing victory for RAYTAYA, who should be a better horse next prep.
