STELLULAR breaks through

The ever-consistent STELLULAR was quietly fancied to break through in the Jacobs Creek Maiden over 1200 metres at Bunbury on Sunday.

After a tardy start, STELLULAR was three from the rear of the field, and her chances looked poor. As the runners approached the bend jockey Troy Turner managed to get the Startac mare out from a pocket, and she began to make ground, but was still many lengths off the leaders. At the 100 metre mark STELLULAR got a dream run up the inside, and grabbed an unlikely victory by a long neck.

This is one of Peter’s home-breds, and he was very pleased to win with another offspring of his Metro-winning mare LULUGAI. Hopefully this long-awaited victory will give STELLULAR confidence, and she will begin to work her way through the grades.
