Trophy win for LADY

After her unlucky run at Ascot last time out, LADY BY CHANCE was fancied for the Think Water Bunbury Handicap on Sunday. This was the main trophy race of the day, over 1690 metres, with Wayside heavily backed into favouritism near the off.

The early pace was set by Long Overdue, with LADY BY CHANCE settled mid-field by jockey Paul Harvey. On the turn the mare looked in trouble, but Paul had it all under control. LADY BY CHANCE was asked to make her run at the 300 metre mark, and she quickened well to pick up the leaders and win by 3/4 of a length from the fast-finishing Wayside.

This was another pleasing win for the home-bred Chance In Time mare, and Peter and Matt will no doubt look for some more targets in town before very long.
