Winning Debut For Waterman’s Bay

WATERMAN’S BAY made the long trip to Northam on Thursday to make his racecourse debut in the Avon Valley Maiden over 1100 metres.

The race was run at a good tempo, with the field taken along by Ave The Snip and Flying Metal. As the runners turned for home Troy Turner moved WATERMAN’S BAY up to follow the leader Ave The Snip. The two horses had a great battle over the last 150 metres, with WATERMAN’S BAY defying his inexperience to win by a head.

This was a super debut for the home-bred gelding, who should give his owners John and Sharon Molloy lots of fun in the months ahead.
